Saturday, June 28, 2008- This is possibly the DUMBEST accident i have ever heard.
COBB COUNTY, Ga. (MyFox Atlanta) – A teenager was killed at the Six Flags Over Georgia amusement park Saturday afternoon after police said he was hit by the Batman rollercoaster. Cobb County fire officials said the boy was decapitated and died instantly when the coaster hit him.
Authorities said the incident happened just after 2:00 p.m. Saturday. A church group went to the amusement park and a group of boys with the group jumped a fence and entered an area that was marked off limits.
Six Flags officials are uncertain why the unidentified 17-year-old from Columbia, S.C. scaled two six-foot fences and passed signs that said the restricted area was both off-limits and dangerous to visitors, spokeswoman Hela Sheth said in a news release.
Authorities were investigating reports from witnesses who said the teenager jumped the fences to retrieve a hat he lost while riding the Batman roller coaster, said Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce. Three security guards were keeping visitors away from the ride on Saturday.
Police said the ride was going full-speed when the teen was struck. The ride’s top speed is 50 mph, according to the Six Flags Web site.
No one riding on the roller coaster was injured, Sheth said. The teen’s friend also entered the restricted area but was not injured, Pierce said.
The teen and his parents were at the park with a group from the Oakey Spring Baptist Church near Springfield, S.C., police said.
Complete Darwin award right here. Honestly, i would not be surprised if this made it into one of those books it's that stupid. Apparently other sources have stated the kid was trying to "grasp riders ankles"
Congratulations to Busch Gardens Europe for winning, “Number One Theme Park in America,” in the first round ever of the Coastertalk Amusement Park Awards.
Early on in the voting, Busch Gardens Africa took a very strong lead. But, the pure beauty, atmosphere, and incredible rides that keep thrilling and pushing the limits beyond typical amusement park attractions of Busch Gardens Europe could barely overcome the wildlife and amazing roller coaster lineup Busch Gardens Africa has late in the competition.
Busch Gardens Europe (BGE) is located in Williamsburg, Virginia. It opened on May 5, 1975, adjacent to the local Anheuser-Busch brewery. The park is themed around the history and culture of old-world Europe. BGE is known for its incredible beauty, food, and architecture throughout the park. The Park is owned and operated by Busch Entertainment Corporation. BGE is open daily from late May through Labor Day, and weekends from late March through Halloween. The park site can be found here. Runner Up: Busch Gardens Africa, Tampa, Florida 3rd Place: Six Flags Magic Mountain, Valencia, California

First off i have a video of the testing that has been going on recently at VooDoo. You can see its not much yet. Really slow, and it makes a really loud screeching noise, but they have to calibrate the motors and you can notice it gets higher every time.
Here are some general pictures of VooDoo: That last one has an awesome angle!
The station
You can get really close to the launch track! And theirs no signs that say "do not jump over fence" (because your a stupid general public idiot) hahaha
Heres a closeup of the train when it was stopped in the launch.
Awesome Sign.

New Voodoo Gift Store
Ahg! I cant believe they used a tacky RCT3 picture on a T-shirt!
This was after they tested for a while. It appeared to me that something was wrong with the break at the front of the launch because the train always stopped there and didn't go back to the station. after it got pulled back slowly like it had been doing, a couple of the workers came out and started looking at it, which you can see in that above picture. They started looking up at the track and soon brought in a ladder. It looks like they were feeling inside the LIM for something wrong. Then they came back with this awesome looking tool/measurement thingamobob.
They then stuck it inside the LIMs and moved it back and fourth, i guess to check for problems. They also used the sides of it to measure the width. That thing is a handy tool! I want one!!!
After a while their were people actually fixing the track instead of inspecting it. And their were people fixing LIMs in the station too.
Well, thats all for now. Full Dorney TR coming tomorrow!
